The decision was set, their mind was made,
The governor ordered, the soldiers obeyed.
Around him the crowd was so wildly cheering,
And beside him the soldiers were mocking and jeering.
With the clashes and gashes of the cat o' nine tails,
His mother was crying, the air drifted her wails.
They shoved him aside and they spat on his face,
They laughed as they beat him, hard with a mace.
They pulled out all of his beard and his hair,
And they gave him a scarlet red robe to wear.
With the biggest of thorns, they twisted a crown,
They put it on his head, and then shoved it down.
Through all of this torment, Jesus didn't say a word,
Not one single sound from his lips was heard.
Then they began to lead him to a cross made of wood,
But Jesus did not fight them, even though he could.
He carried it up the hill, with his body so weak.
He did what they said, for Gods will did he seek.
He trudged up the hill, with all of his might.
Not even once putting up a fight.
Once at the top, he laid on his tree.
Why would he do this, for you and me?
And while Jesus laid there, on the cross,
"Give me a nail" A soldier said with a toss.
Jesus lifted his hand, and with no alarm,
The soldier grabbed a hammer, and lifted his arm.
Then, Jesus did this for all of our sin.
"BANG" it sounded, the first nail was in.
A nail went on his other arm, and one in his feet.
The soldiers gambled for his clothes, the scriptures complete.
And then someone painted, a large wooden plaque
They hung it on his cross, just above his back.
"Jesus of Nazareth, the wooden sign said.
In Hebrew, Latin, and Greek it hung over his head.
Jesus said " I thirst" and they gave him wine sour.
They said to call down your angels, if you have the power.
But Jesus didn't do this, though it would be easy.
The sky became dark, and it became breezy.
And just as his broken body was diminished,
Jesus lowered his head, and said " It is finished."
Authors note: Wait! the story does not end this way. Jesus rose from the grave on the third day of his death, overcoming Satan's power, and saving us from our sins.

About 'A Tear Away From Breakthrough'
A Tear  Away from Breakthrough is an open spot where I can allow myself to share my discoveries on my journey with Christ. It is where I can express my honesty. A place where I can just be silent and listen, allowing Christ to reveal the truth to me. After I have faced the music of crying, sadness, confusion and everything that caters to tears of frustration and joy, I pause in the silence and let the truth be revealed : There is hope. This is where the title is taken from... ' A tear away from breakthrough.'

Welcome to this blogspot
This is the place where my creative writing aims to take those silent tears to a  hopeful destination. The open spot that is described  above is a website/blog whereby the public can listen, watch and read some of my creative writing. This can come in the form of poetry , songs and other creative pieces.

The scripture that explains
Praise be to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7 NIV)
He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for the LORD has spoken it.
– Isaiah 25:8
Aim: to encourage souls through my creative writing that there is hope through Christ.
